Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV)

TL;DR: Particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) is one of the oldest measuring techniques in fluid mechanics as mentioned in this paper, which is often called low particle number density Particle Image Velocimeters (PIV) (Adrian, 1991).
Book ChapterDOI

Particle Tracking in Three-Dimensional Space

TL;DR: The photogrammetric procedure described in the previous chapter yields coordinates of particle positions in space at successive time steps as discussed by the authors, which have inevitably true errors of which the root mean square values σ i, rms in x, y and z-directions have been estimated in the photogrammmetric part (Maas, this chapter).
Journal ArticleDOI

Interpolation Schemes for Three-Dimensional Velocity Fields from Scattered Data Using Taylor Expansions

TL;DR: In this paper, a polynomial interpolation scheme was proposed to interpolate field data given at randomly distributed locations within a 3D volume to any arbitrary set of points within that volume, which is equivalent to a Taylor expansion of the velocity field up to second-order partial derivatives.
Book ChapterDOI

Multiphase Flow in Porous Media

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider the simultaneous flow of liquids and gases through porous media and assume that cohesive forces in these fluids exceed the adhesion ones, and that the fluids are immiscible and separated from each other by stable abrupt interfaces.
