Journal ArticleDOI

Cosmological constant—the weight of the vacuum

TL;DR: A review of cosmological constants can be found in this paper, where the authors discuss several aspects of the Cosmological Constant problem from both cosmology and theoretical perspectives.
Book

Structure formation in the universe

TL;DR: In this paper, the Friedmann model is used to model the growth of linear perturbations in the universe and the evolution of high redshift objects in the microwave background radiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accelerated expansion of the universe driven by tachyonic matter

TL;DR: In this paper, a scalar field with a potential to reproduce the observed evolution of the universe cannot be reconciled with theoretical prejudices, and a recipe for determining the potential from a given expansion factor is given.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermodynamical aspects of gravity: new insights

TL;DR: The fact that one can associate thermodynamic properties with horizons brings together principles of quantum theory, gravitation and thermodynamics and possibly offers a window to the nature of quantum geometry as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Particle production and complex path analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple semiclassical method based on the method of complex paths was used to obtain particle production in Schwarzschild-like spacetimes with a horizon. But this method was not suitable for the case of a purely time-dependent gauge.
