Conditional Mutagenesis of Gata6 in SF1-Positive Cells Causes Gonadal-Like Differentiation in the Adrenal Cortex of Mice
Marjut Pihlajoki,Elisabeth Gretzinger,Rebecca Cochran,Antti Kyrönlahti,Antti Kyrönlahti,Anja Schrade,Anja Schrade,Theresa Hiller,Laura Sullivan,Michael Shoykhet,Erica L. Schoeller,Michael D. Brooks,Markku Heikinheimo,Markku Heikinheimo,David B. Wilson +14 more
TL;DR: Genetic proof is offered that GATA6 regulates the differentiation of steroidogenic progenitors into adrenocortical cells into gonadal-like cells, and limits sex steroidogenic cell differentiation in response to the hormonal changes that accompany gonadectomy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel markers of gonadectomy-induced adrenocortical neoplasia in the mouse and ferret.
Maximiliaan Schillebeeckx,Marjut Pihlajoki,Elisabeth Gretzinger,Wei Yang,Franziska Thol,Franziska Thol,Theresa Hiller,Theresa Hiller,Ann-Kathrin Löbs,Ann-Kathrin Löbs,Theresa Röhrig,Theresa Röhrig,Anja Schrade,Anja Schrade,Rebecca Cochran,Patrick Y. Jay,Markku Heikinheimo,Markku Heikinheimo,Robi D. Mitra,David B. Wilson +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, a combination of transcriptome analysis and DNA methylation mapping was used to identify novel genetic and epigenetic markers of GDX-induced adrenocortical neoplasia in female DBA/2J mice.
