Intra-articular Treatment of Osteoarthritis with Diclofenac-Conjugated Polymer Reduces Inflammation and Pain
Adrian Sulistio,Friederike M. Mansfeld,Friederike M. Mansfeld,Felisa Reyes-Ortega,Asha M. D’Souza,Sarah M. Y. Ng,Stephen Lonsdale Birkett,Anton Blencowe,Greg G. Qiao,Christopher B. Little,Cindy C. Shu,Alison M. Bendele,David Valade,Andrew Craig Donohue,John F. Quinn,Michael R. Whittaker,Thomas P. Davis,Thomas P. Davis,Russell John Tait +18 more
TL;DR: In a reactivation arthritis animal model, the C-DCF-RH-PU formulation reduced pain and significantly reduced inflammation after a short lag phase, showing that this drug delivery system warrants further development for long-term treatment of osteoarthritis with the benefit of reduced side effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transesterification of poly(ethyl‐α‐hydroxymethacrylate) prepared via reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization
TL;DR: In this paper, the transesterification of a bifunctional 1,1-disubstituted monomer, poly(ethyl-α-hydroxymethacrylate), prepared via reversible additionfragmentation chain transfer polymerization was analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting organic cation transporters at the blood-brain barrier to treat ischemic stroke in rats
TL;DR: In this paper , an endogenous BBB uptake transport system for memantine was identified: organic cation transporters 1 and 2 (Oct1/Oct2), which was evaluated using cimetidine (15 mg/kg, i.v.) following intraluminal suture removal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of dielectric spectroscopy and DSC to the study of relaxations in some copolymeric hydrogels
TL;DR: In this paper, the nature of water in copolymeric Nvinyl pyrrolidone/methyl methacrylate hydrogels has been investigated using dielectric thermal analysis (DETA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
Transfer and propagation reactions in free-radical copolymerization
Thomas P. Davis,Johan P. A. Heuts,Christopher Barner-Kowollik,Simon Harrisson,David A. Morrison,Lachlan H Yee,Heidi Kapfenstein-Doak,Michelle L. Coote +7 more
TL;DR: The contribution of entropic factors to the penultimate unit effect in free-radical copolymerizations is discussed and exemplified in this paper. But, the authors also point out that radical reactions are highly complex and there are significant dangers and drawbacks in employing simplified kinetic models when in search of fundamental understanding.
