A note on the Prandtl boundary layers

Yan Guo, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the non-linear ill-posedness of the Prandtl equation is not well-posed near non-stationary and non-monotonic shear flows.
Journal ArticleDOI

A note on Prandtl boundary layers

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the asymptotic boundary layer expansion is not valid for non-stationary and non-monotonic shear layer flows in Sobolev spaces.
Journal ArticleDOI

Remarks on the ill-posedness of the Prandtl equation

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that for some C ∞ initial data, local in time H 1 solutions of the linearized Prandtl equation do not exist and that if a flow exists in the Sobolev setting, it cannot be Lipschitz continuous.

Remarks on the ill-posedness of the Prandtl equation

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that for some linearizations of the Prandtl equation and some initial data, local in time solutions do not exist and that if a flow exists in the Sobolev setting, it cannot be Lipschitz continuous.

Prandtl boundary layer expansions of steady Navier-Stokes flows over a moving plate

TL;DR: In this article, the validity of the Prandtl boundary layer theory in the inviscid limit for steady incompressible Navier-Stokes flows is discussed. But the authors focus on stationary flows, with small viscosity, with no-slip boundary condition over a moving plate.
