Journal ArticleDOI

Façade solar collectors

TL;DR: In this article, the thermal behavior of facade thermal collectors compared with standard roof-located collectors in solar DHW systems was investigated, and the authors concluded that facade collectors should have an area increased by approximately 30% to achieve the usual 60% solar fraction compared with conventional roof solar collectors with a 45° slope.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stratification analysis of domestic hot water storage tanks: A comprehensive review

TL;DR: In this paper, a systematic review of thermal stratification in domestic hot water tanks is presented, where a wide variety of concepts to be embodied around the central theme of the tank are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of increased temperature on energy production of roof integrated PV panels

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the temperature and energy production of roof integrated and free standing PV panels at the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) in Prague and verified the new simplified thermal model of PV panel developed at Czech Technical University (CTU).
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance and Economic Analysis of Hybrid PVT Collectors in Solar DHW System

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of different concepts of solar hybrid PVT liquid collectors has been analyzed for domestic hot water application in a b lock of flats, and a comparison with conventional installation of photovoltaic (PV) and photothermal (PT) solar collectors with the same total collector area 100 m 2 has been done for identical load conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical prediction of the stratification performance in domestic hot water storage tanks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantified the turbulent missing on the basis of temperature profile, MIX number, and Richardson number and proved numerically that the tank working conditions can be optimized by proper selection of inlet device.
