Journal ArticleDOI

Thrombectomy in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Challenges to Procedural Success.

TL;DR: The persistent challenges that face neurointerventionists are addressed and technical refinements that may help to mitigate these obstacles to procedural success are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural analysis of ischemic stroke thrombi: histological indications for therapy resistance

TL;DR: Findings are important to better understand why platelet-rich thrombi are resistant to thrombolysis and difficult to retrieve via thrombectomy, and can guide further improvements of acute ischemic stroke therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Management strategies for anterior cranial fossa (ethmoidal) dural arteriovenous fistulas with an emphasis on endovascular treatment.

TL;DR: Disconnection of an anterior cranial fossa DAVF by using transarterial catheterization through the ophthalmic artery and subsequent injection of NBCA is possible with a reasonable success rate and low risk for complications, and in patients with good vascular access this procedure could be the treatment of choice, to be followed by open surgery in cases of embolization failure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radiation dose in neuroangiography using image noise reduction technology: a population study based on 614 patients

TL;DR: X-ray imaging technology using an image noise reduction algorithm and system settings provided approximately 60% radiation dose reduction in neuroangiography and interventional neuroradiology, without affecting the working habits of the physician.
