Journal ArticleDOI
Hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (HypoFXSRT) for stage I non-small cell lung cancer: updated results of 257 patients in a Japanese multi-institutional study.
Hiroshi Onishi,Hiroki Shirato,Yasushi Nagata,Masahiro Hiraoka,Masaharu Fujino,Kotaro Gomi,Yuzuru Niibe,Katsuyuki Karasawa,Kazushige Hayakawa,Yoshihiro Takai,Tomoki Kimura,A. Takeda,Atsushi Ouchi,Masato Hareyama,Masaki Kokubo,Ryusuke Hara,Jun Itami,Kazunari Yamada,Tsutomu Araki +18 more
TL;DR: HypoFXSRT with a BED of less than 180 Gy was almost safe for stage I NSCLC, and the local control and overall survival rates in 5 years with a AED of 100 Gy or more were superior to the reported results for conventional radiotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for operable Stage i non-small-cell lung cancer: Can SBRT be comparable to surgery?
Hiroshi Onishi,Hiroki Shirato,Yasushi Nagata,Masahiro Hiraoka,Masaharu Fujino,Masaharu Fujino,Kotaro Gomi,Katsuyuki Karasawa,Kazushige Hayakawa,Yuzuru Niibe,Yoshihiro Takai,Tomoki Kimura,Atsuya Takeda,Atsushi Ouchi,Masato Hareyama,Masaki Kokubo,Takuyo Kozuka,Takuro Arimoto,Ryusuke Hara,Jun Itami,Tsutomu Araki +20 more
TL;DR: Stereotactic body radiotherapy is safe and promising as a radical treatment for operable Stage I NSCLC and the survival rate for SBRT is potentially comparable to that for surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiofrequency Ablation Therapy Combined with Cementoplasty for Painful Bone Metastases: Initial Experience
Naoyuki Toyota,Akira Naito,Hideaki Kakizawa,Masashi Hieda,Nobuhiko Hirai,Toshihiro Tachikake,Tomoki Kimura,Hideki Fukuda,Katsuhide Ito +8 more
TL;DR: Percutaneous RF ablation therapy combined with cementoplasty for painful bone metastases is effective and safe, in particular, for bulky tumors extending to extraosseous regions.
Journal ArticleDOI
CT appearance of radiation injury of the lung and clinical symptoms after stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for lung cancers: Are patients with pulmonary emphysema also candidates for SBRT for lung cancers?
Tomoki Kimura,Tomoki Kimura,Kanji Matsuura,Yuji Murakami,Yasutoshi Hashimoto,Masahiro Kenjo,Yuko Kaneyasu,Koichi Wadasaki,Yutaka Hirokawa,Katsuhide Ito,Motoomi Okawa +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that SBRT can be also safely performed even in patients with PE, and the relationship between CT appearance, clinical symptoms, and PE is evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility of organ position using voluntary breath-hold method with spirometer for extracranial stereotactic radiotherapy.
Tomoki Kimura,Yutaka Hirokawa,Yuji Murakami,Masatsugu Tsujimura,Tateo Nakashima,Yoshimi Ohno,Masahiro Kenjo,Yuko Kaneyasu,Koichi Wadasaki,Katsuhide Ito +9 more
TL;DR: The voluntary breath-hold method with a spirometer is feasible, with relatively good reproducibility, and the use of this technique clinically for extracranial stereotactic radiotherapy in a clinical setting is encouraged.
