Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-1 Gene Therapy Attenuates Renal Injury Induced by Protein-Overload Proteinuria

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that MCP-1 plays an important role in the development of tubulointerstitial inflammation, tubular damage, and fibrosis induced by proteinuria, and the fact that 7ND gene therapy had little effect on the contralateral kidney indicates that7ND acted locally.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of human soluble thrombomodulin on experimental glomerulonephritis.

TL;DR: The results indicate that RHS-TM, in addition to its anti-thrombotic action, may exert itsAnti-inflammatory properties by converting proCPR to CPR, which then inactivates anaphylatoxins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular Cloning and Partial Characterization of Rat Procarboxypeptidase R and Carboxypeptidase N

TL;DR: Rat proCPR and CPN cDNA clones which can induce enzymatic activities in culture supernatants of the transfected cells are isolated and expression ofproCPR mRNA was enhanced following LPS injection, indicating that proC PR production is increased under inflammatory conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pigment pattern formation in the quail mutant of the silkworm, Bombyx mori: parallel increase of pteridine biosynthesis and pigmentation of melanin and ommochromes.

TL;DR: Results strongly suggest that pteridine biosynthesis is closely linked to the formation of melanin and ommochromes, and it is suggested here that in the silkworm a recessive gene (q) may be involved in the regulation of its pigment pattern formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Casein kinase 2 during early embryonic development in silkworm Bombyx mori: cDNA sequence, gene expression, and enzyme activity.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the changes in CK2 activity are regulated mainly at the level of post-transcription during embryonic development in Bombyx mori.
