Journal ArticleDOI
The pathogenesis of Bartter's syndrome. Functional and histologic studies.
Toshiro Fujita,Hiroshi Sakaguchi,Masakatsu Shibagaki,Toshio Fukui,Masayuki Nomura,Susumu Sekiguchi +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a patient with Bartter's snyndrome was described and electron micrograms confirmed the presence of juxtaglomerular cell hyperplasia with polymorphous renin secretory granules and dense multivesicular bodies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Independent roles of prostaglandins and the renin-angiotensin system in abnormal vascular reactivity in Bartter's syndrome
TL;DR: Evidence presented herein suggests that the abnormalities in the vascular reactivity to angiotensin II may result from, not only the decreased number of receptor sites as a results of the increased concentration of endogenous angiotENSin II, but also from the alteration of the end-organ sensitivity to angiotsin II via overproduction of prostaglandins.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Case of Primary Macroglobulinemia with Lung Involvement
Yoshio Yamauchi,Seiya Akatsuka,Sugahiro Sato,Hiroko Yoshitake,Toshio Fukui,Minoru Kuwashima,Susumu Sekiguchi +6 more
Journal ArticleDOI
A Case of Renal Medullary Cystic Disease with Proximal Tubular Dysfunction
Toshiro Fujita,Masaru Itakura,Hideo Mitamura,Masayuki Nomura,Masakatsu Shibagaki,Koshiro Watanabe,Toshio Fukui,Hiroshi Sakaguchi +7 more
TL;DR: The presence of salt-wasting, hyperchloremic metabolic adidosis, aminoaciduria, hyperuricosuria and "tubular proteinuria" suggests that the patient with medullary cystic disease is associated with multiple proximal tubular dysfunction.
