TL;DR: The radiocesium migration in undisturbed forest and grassland soils at Fukushima contaminated area has been shown to be faster as compared to the Chernobyl 30-km zone during the first three years after the accidents.

Synthesis and evaluation of different thio-modified cellulose resins for the removal of mercury (II) ion from highly acidic aqueous solutions.
TL;DR: Seven different types of thio- and/or amine-modified cellulose resin materials were synthesized and their mercury (II) ion adsorption properties determined, and the o-benzenedithiol- and o-aminothiophenol- modified cellulosic resins were found to be very effective in removing mercury ( II) ions from strongly acidic media.

TL;DR: It is shown that the young trees of Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora) are sensitive to radiation, and irradiation induced cancellation of the apical dominance in this species is similar to that observed in young trees growing in the Chernobyl zone.
