The multi-beam antenna comprises antenna elements (3) each of which is composed of a waveguide having an opening at the end and a dielectric body (6) disposed at the end, a hemispherical Luneberg electromagnetic lens, and a reflective plate attached to the circular opening of the hemispherical electromagnetic lens and adapted for reflecting a radio wave incoming from the sky or emitted toward a target. The waveguides are preferably rectangular waveguides (4) rather than circular waveguides (5). The dielectric bodies (6) are preferably tapered.

Secondary battery, and electrolyte and membrane used for the same

A swivelling unit (30) is provided for the multi-feeder systems (17) and it includes strap or fastening halves (21), a supporting arm (29) fixed to them, and a swivelling quadrant (31) that can turn about the axis (33). On the top of the quadrant there is an adapter plate or cross member (35) for the feeder systems. The swivelling unit allows each feeder to be set to match the position of each focus and adjusted exactly according to the graduations.

A multibeam antenna comprises a parabola reflector, a down converter, a supporting arm, and a holding member. The down converter comprises, in one unit, a multi-primary radiator, and a housing incorporating a conversion circuit. The multi-primary radiator comprises a plurality of primary radiators whose centers of apertures are aligned. Two adjacent primary radiators are joined at an integrating part. The angle between the down converter and the supporting arm can be changed relative to the vertical irradiation axis by the holding member, and hence the angle of polarization can be regulated easily by the changing function. Paired power supply elements provided on the conversion circuit are arranged perpendicularly to each other. The angle between each power supply element and the center line of the integrating part is determined based on the central longitude of the range of latitude of the receiving area.

Multi-primary radiator, down converter and multibeam antenna

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a reflection mirror even when the separation angle of radiated beams is small by placing plural primary radiators containing the beam focusing means consisting of axially long dielectric members mounted on a waveguide opening part approximately at the focal position of the reflector and also forming both ends of the dielectric member constructing each beam focusing means in the conical shapes. SOLUTION: A primary radiator 2 is placed near and against the focal position F of a parabolic reflector 1, and a primary radiator 3 is also placed near and against the position F and opposite to the radiator 2. The radiator 2 and 3 have the same shapes, and each of both radiators 2 and 3 consists of a waveguide having its circular section, a dielectric substance mounted at the front edge of the waveguide and a converter placed at the rear end of the waveguide. Then one of both ends of the dielectric substance has a conical shape to secure the matching of impedance with the waveguide with the other end projecting to the outside of the waveguide respectively.
