The use of polyethylene copolymers as compatibilizers in carbon fiber reinforced high density polyethylene composites
TL;DR: In this paper, three commercially available copolymers are used as compatibilizer in carbon fiber (CF) reinforced high density polyethylene (PE) based composites, and the results showed that the use of coupling agents increases the mechanical properties of composites regardless of their type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of microcapsulated red phosphorus on flame retardant, thermal and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane composites filled with huntite&hydromagnesite mineral
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of microcapsulated red phosphorus (mRP) on the flame retardant, thermal and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) composites containing Huntite&hydromagnesite (HH) was investigated using limiting oxygen index (LOI), vertical burning test (UL 94), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and mass loss calorimeter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of expandable graphite on flame retardant, thermal and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane composites filled with huntite&hydromagnesite mineral
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of expandable graphite (EG) on flame retardant, thermal and mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) containing huntite&hydromagnesite (HH) was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical, flow and electrical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane/fullerene composites: Effect of surface modification of fullerene
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of surface modifications of fullerene on mechanical, melt flow and electrical properties of TPU based composites was investigated. And the best results were obtained in nitric acid and silane modified fullerenes containing composites at the lowest concentration (05%) higher MFI values were observed for composites loaded with surface treated fullererenes compared to pristine fulrerene because of their better dispersion in TPU.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flame retardant effect of boron compounds in polymeric materials
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a comprehensive description of the flame retardant effect of boron compounds with general flame-retardant mechanisms in natural polymers, biocomposite applications, thermoplastics, elastomers, and thermosets as well as the synergistic effect studies with other flame- retardant additives.
