Estimate of aflatoxin M1 exposure in milk and occurrence in Brazil
TL;DR: The presence of aflatoxin M 1 (AFM 1 ) was investigated in 125 samples of powdered milk, pasteurized milk and ultra high treated (UHT) milk in the city of Sao Paulo, and estimates of AFM 1 intake were assessed as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Luzia Shundo,Adriana Palma de Almeida,Janete Alaburda,Leda C.A. Lamardo,Sandra Aparecida Navas,Valter Ruvieri,Myrna Sabino +6 more
TL;DR: Paprika samples collected in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, from January to April 2006 were analysed for aflatoxins and ochratoxin A (OTA) using an immunoaffinity column clean-up and HPLC-FLD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of folic acid in fortified wheat flours
TL;DR: A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method with ultraviolet detection to determine folic acid (FA) in fortified wheat flour is described in this paper, which includes FA extraction with tetraborate and trichloroacetic acid buffer solution and purification by solid-phase extraction with strong anion exchange cartridges.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ochratoxin A in brazilian instant coffee
Adriana Palma de Almeida,Janete Alaburda,Luzia Shundo,Valter Ruvieri,Sandra Aparecida Navas,Leda C.A. Lamardo,Myrna Sabino +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the EN 14133/2003 method, originally developed to quantify OTA in wine, grape juice and beer samples, was evaluated and approved for analyzing Ochratoxin A in instant coffee samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ochratoxin A in wines and grape juices commercialized in the city of São Paulo, Brazil
Luzia Shundo,Adriana Palma de Almeida,Janete Alaburda,Valter Ruvieri,Sandra Aparecida Navas,Leda C.A. Lamardo,Myrna Sabino +6 more
TL;DR: Although the results from the wine samples analysed for the presence of OTA were below to the limits established by EC 123/2005, low and continuous exposure to this mycotoxin could be a risk to human health.
