Functional MRI of Verbal Self-monitoring in Schizophrenia: Performance and Illness-Specific Effects
Veena Kumari,Dominic Fannon,Dominic Ffytche,Vinodkumar Raveendran,Elena Antonova,Preethi Premkumar,M. Cooke,Ananatha P.P. Anilkumar,Steven Williams,C. Andrew,Louise Johns,Cynthia H.Y. Fu,Philip McGuire,Elizabeth Kuipers +13 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that hypoactivation of a neural network comprised of the thalamus and frontotemporal regions underlies impaired speech monitoring in schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beyond dopamine: functional MRI predictors of responsiveness to cognitive behaviour therapy for psychosis.
Veena Kumari,Veena Kumari,Elena Antonova,Dominic Fannon,Emmanuelle Peters,Emmanuelle Peters,Dominic Ffytche,Preethi Premkumar,Vinodkumar Raveendran,C. Andrew,Louise Johns,Philip A McGuire,Steven Williams,Elizabeth Kuipers,Elizabeth Kuipers +14 more
TL;DR: The findings implicate language processing (IFG), attention, insight, insight and self-awareness (medial prefrontal and parietal cortices) in CBTp responsiveness in schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical, cognitive and neural correlates of self-monitoring deficits in schizophrenia: an update
TL;DR: Self-monitoring deficit is most consistently observed in patients with schizophrenia with auditory hallucinations and passivity experiences, and there are insufficient direct data to reach meaningful conclusions about the cognitive correlates of this deficit.
