Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of Transgenic and Adenovirus hACE2 Mouse Models for SARS-CoV-2 Infection

TL;DR: The K18-hACE2 model provides a stringent model for testing vaccines and antivirals, whereas the adenovirus delivery system has the flexibility to be used across multiple genetic backgrounds and modified mouse strains.
Journal ArticleDOI

The C terminus of p53 regulates gene expression by multiple mechanisms in a target- and tissue-specific manner in vivo

TL;DR: The p53 tumor suppressor is a transcription factor that mediates varied cellular responses and regulates gene expression via multiple mechanisms depending on the tissue and target, and this leads to specific phenotypic effects in vivo.
Posted ContentDOI

Comparison of Transgenic and Adenovirus hACE2 Mouse Models for SARS-CoV-2 Infection.

TL;DR: The K18-hACE2 transgenic model provides a stringent model for testing the ability of vaccines and antivirals to protect against disease, whereas the adenovirus delivery system has the flexibility to be used across multiple genetic backgrounds and modified mouse strains.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contribution of the Purinergic Receptor P2X7 to Development of Lung Immunopathology during Influenza Virus Infection

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that activation of the P2X7 receptor is involved in the exacerbated immune response observed during influenza virus infection and helps to better understand the mechanisms leading to the lung immunopathology observed during severe viral infections.
