Journal ArticleDOI

The South China block-Indochina collision: Where, when, and how?

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used new field observations and existing studies to shed new light on the origin and significance of two NW-SE striking orogens in NW and NE Vietnam, and concluded that the architecture of each belt is a stack of NE-directed nappes formed either under deep ductile synmetamorphic conditions, or under shallow depth in the SW and NE parts, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neoproterozoic to Early Triassic tectono-stratigraphic evolution of Indochina and adjacent areas: A review with new data

TL;DR: The evolution of Indochina and adjacent areas can be divided into six mega-episodes: 1) The Neoproterozoic-Early Cambrian mega-episode was characterized by shallow marine environment in the Sino-Vietnam composite terrane as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cenozoic paleostress evolution in south central Vietnam: Implication for changing dynamics of faulting along the eastern Indochina continental margin

TL;DR: The analysis of 1500 striated faults observed in different rocks, mostly from volcano-plutonic rocks with ages ranging from Cretaceous to Quaternary, at more than 140 locations in south central Vietnam by direct inversion method allowed to determine four paleostress regimes that affected eastern Indochina from Oligocene up to present day as mentioned in this paper.
