Journal Article
A transmissible feline fibrosarcoma of viral origin.
TL;DR: Histological examination of an invasive neoplasm from an 18-month-old female domestic shorthair cat revealed it to be a pleomorphic fibrosarcoma that ranged in microscopic appearance from well-differentiated collagenous connective tissue to anaplastic sarcomatous tissue that infiltrated surrounding musculature and skin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feline leukemia virus: occurrence of viral antigen in the tissues of cats with lymphosarcoma and other diseases.
TL;DR: The feline leukemia virus antigen was found in the tissues of 25 of 33 cats with lymphosarcoma and of 5 of 13 cats with infectious peritonitis, and its presence was correlated with the occurrence of felinie leukemia virus demonstrable by electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shared group-specific antigen of murine and feline leukemia viruses
Journal Article
Natural Feline Leukemia Virus Infection and the Immune Response of Cats of Different Ages
TL;DR: Adult cats are susceptible to FeLV infection following long-term natural exposure, and their apparent resistance cannot be attributed to a protective humoral immune response that developed immediately after exposure commenced.
Journal ArticleDOI
RD-114 virus compared with feline and murine type-C viruses released from RD cells.
Robert M. McAllister,Margery O. Nicolson,M. B. Gardner,Suraiya Rasheed,Robert W. Rongey,W. D. Hardy,Raymond V. Gilden +6 more
TL;DR: In an effort to rescue components of a hypothetical human sarcoma virus genome, a human rhabdomyosarcoma cell line was infected with the GA strain of FeLV or the rat-tropic Kirsten strain of murine sarcomA virus and virus productive cell lines were established.
