Journal ArticleDOI

Salivation and insulin secretion in response to food in non-obese men and women

TL;DR: There were significant increases in saliva and plasma insulin in response to the presentation of food, the increases in salivation correlating positively with indices of body weight (W/H2) and scores on the Herman and Polivy Scale of restrained versus unrestrained eating, but not with increases in insulin secretion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in body weight and food-related behaviour induced by destruction of the ventral or dorsal noradrenergic bundle in the rat

TL;DR: The results are discussed in connection with previous studies of ventral and dorsal noradrenergic bundle lesions, with the effects of ventromedial hypothalamic lesions and with the underlying behavioural and physiological processes that mediate these contrasting effects of different neuroanatomical patterns of central Noradrenaline depletion.
