Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence of severe critical events in paediatric anaesthesia (APRICOT): a prospective multicentre observational study in 261 hospitals in Europe
Walid Habre,Nicola Disma,Katalin Virag,Karin Becke,Tom Hansen,Martin Jöhr,Brigitte Leva,Neil S. Morton,Petronella M. Vermeulen,Marzena Zielińska,Krisztina Boda,Francis Veyckemans +11 more
TL;DR: A relatively high rate of severe critical events during the anaesthesia management of children for surgical or diagnostic procedures in Europe, and a large variability in the practice of paediatric anaesthesia are highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk assessment for respiratory complications in paediatric anaesthesia: a prospective cohort study
Britta S. von Ungern-Sternberg,Britta S. von Ungern-Sternberg,Britta S. von Ungern-Sternberg,Krisztina Boda,Neil A. Chambers,Claudia Rebmann,Chris Johnson,Peter D. Sly,Walid Habre +8 more
TL;DR: Children at high risk for perioperative respiratory adverse events could be systematically identified at the preanaesthetic assessment and thus can benefit from a specifically targeted anaesthesia management.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence and risk factors of perioperative respiratory adverse events in children undergoing elective surgery
TL;DR: The purpose of this prospective study was to determine the incidence of perioperative respiratory adverse events during elective paediatric surgery and to identify the risk factors for these events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Volatile anesthetics rapidly increase dendritic spine density in the rat medial prefrontal cortex during synaptogenesis.
TL;DR: In this article, exposure time-dependent effects of volatile anesthetics on neuronal cytoarchitecture in 16-day-old rats, a developmental stage characterized by intense synaptogenesis in the cerebral cortex, were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison between clonidine and epinephrine admixture to lidocaine in brachial plexus block.
Dorothee Gaumann,Alain Forster,Marthe Griessen,Walid Habre,Olivier Poinsot,Dominique Delia Santa +5 more
TL;DR: Although clonidine does not offer advantages compared with epinephrine, it may be a useful adjunct to local anesthetics in those patients in whom the administration of epinphrine is contraindicated.
