Entrepreneurship: A Comparative and Historical Study.

This study aims to analyze and express the effort of hotel management through simplicity, treating to the genuineness of nature and environment and treating to the genuineness of art and culture. Hotel in Solo has important role in the concept of eco tourism, because hotel is facility for tourists who visit Solo. Method of this study is explorative qualitative with cultural studies based on enthnography approach. The location was Solo with data were taken through deeply interview to the related parties of tourism and hotel. Research secondary data is needed through researchers’ observation, document, and policies toward hotel management strategy in Surakarta related to the concept of eco tourism. To test data validity the researchers do triangulation in every meeting. Result of the study are several activities of hotel management in Solo are already eco tourism such as hotel architecture, eco friendly hotel management, appropriate hotel concept towards Solo people socio culture. Currently Solo is one of tourism destinations in central java, supported by representative hotel for domestic and international guess. Hotel’s ambiance reflects local wisdom and Solo people’s habit have created serenity, maintaining beautiful ornamental plants which guarantee conserved living environment resulting the equilibrium between human and environment. Hotel Management Strategy in Surakarta City in Supporting Eco-Tourism Concept

Wayang beber Pacitan is considered as one of the unique traditional heritage because it is not found in other places. The uniqueness of wayang beber Pacitan can be seen from its shape, function, and meaning. Wayang beber is considered sacred by its community, particularly the relatives of the dalang (puppeter) of wayang beber who lives in Dusun Karangtalun, Desa Gedompol, Donorojo. However, in its development the existence of the traditional arts is threathened because of the influence of modern cultural values. The efforts to revitalize wayang beber has been undertaken by the local government and other related stakeholders. However, the effort to revitalize wayang beber is not yet successful because there are still constraints, both internal and external. The former view of wayang beber as well as the pressure of modern culture has constrained the revitalization of wayang beber. Similarly, transforming wayang beber from community art to tourist art is another constraint. Key words: cultural identity, revitalization, tourism, wayang beber. Wayang beber Pacitan termasuk salah satu warisan seni tradisi yang langka dan unik karena tidak ditemukan di tempat lain. Kelangkaan dan keunikan wayang beber Pacitan dapat dilihat dari bentuk, fungsi, dan makna yang terkandung di dalamnya. Kesenian ini sangat disakralkan oleh pendukungnya khususnya keluarga dalang Wayang beber yang tinggal di Dusun Karangtalun, Desa Gedompol, Donorojo.  Namun kesenian tradisi ini terancam punah karena terdesak oleh nilai-nilai budaya modern. Usaha revitalisasi wayang beber telah dilakukan walaupun belum optimal karena beberapa hambatan. Pandangan lama atas wayang beber dan desakan budaya modern menghambat revitalisasi wayang beber. Demikian pula mentransformasikan Wayang beber dari seni sakral (community art) menjadi seni hiburan (tourist art) menjadi hambatan lain yang belum sepenuhnya teratasi. Oleh karena itu, revitalisasi wayang beber harus dimulai dengan kebijakan yang tepat, komitmen pemimpin daerah, dukungan masyarakat dan swasta, serta dilakukan secara sinergis antarpara pihak yang peduli terhadap wayang beber. The research aimed to dismantle the meaning of peraq api in its social practices involving habitus and the field in Sasak cosmology. Pierre Bourdieu’s social practice theory was used as an analysis to uncover the meanings built in the tradition of the peraq api. The meaning of peraq api in its social practice was discussed using qualitative methods, interpretative descriptive data analysis techniques, and using a hermeneutic approach. The results of indicate that the tradition of peraq api is a manifestation of life that represents the creation of beings. This happens because the attitude and perspective of Sasak society about nature originated from the monotheism’s cosmology. This perspective gives rise to behavior to maintain the cosmological balance. Tawhid is a general view of reality, truth, the world, space and time, and human history, which is represented through the tradition of the peraq api.

Peraq Api Tradition in Lombok: A Bourdieu Perspective Review

This study aims to foster the nationalistic attitude of students of SMP Negeri Panjatan, Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region through the philosophical values of Gebleg Renteng related to Pancasila values. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data sources are taken from books, journals and supporting documents related to research. The main characteristics in the research come from the natural / reality background at Panjatan State Junior High School by observing, interviewing, and analyzing documents. After the data is collected, the researcher analyzes and then concludes the results of the data that have been obtained. The results of this study are the motifs in the Gebleg Renteng batik, including Gebleg in the form of a figure eight combined into one bond (jointly), the kacer bird, the mangosteen fruit, the binangun symbol, the Kulon Progo logo, up and down patterns and other variations. Gebleg Renteng's batik motif can be taken from a philosophical value, namely nationalism. Values are always associated with moral ethics or character so that the philosophical values in Gebleg Renteng's batik can be used to foster students' nationalistic attitudes through learning. An attitude of nationalism must be instilled in the younger generation in order to understand the importance of the Indonesian struggle for independence. The value contained in Gebleg Renteng's batik is nationalism in accordance with what is the basis of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Pancasila. Pancasila is an Indonesian state ideology which has very meaningful values in building the nation and state. Pancasila is taken from the values of customs, cultural and religious values that exist in the life of the Indonesian people so that Pancasila must be maintained for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Fostering an Attitude of Nationalism to the Students of SMP Negeri Panjatan Through The Philosophical Value of Batik Gebleg Renteng Toward The Values of Pancasila

Major cities in Indonesia generally have landmarks or special features that symbolize the uniqueness and beauty of the city in question. One of the most important landmarks of the colonial city is the societeit building as an entertainment center. This study examines the function and role of Societeit de Harmonie in Batavia in the 19th century in the midst of the heterogeneous and multiethnic life of the Batavian city of Batavia. Through the study of documents and archives, the results of this study show that Societeit de Harmonie is the greatest building compared to other societeit buildings in Batavia in the 19th century. Therefore, this building is known by all citizens of the city although who can access and utilize this building is only limited. Only the European elite can enter and use the Societeit de Harmonie building. The presence of the place of entertainment also represents the entry of new values (West) that color and becomes an important part of the cultural development of the next city Batavia. These Western values are coupled with local values practiced by indigenous peoples living in the corners of the city of Batavia. The lifestyles of Europeans who lived in Batavia during the nineteenth century can be identified from their activities when gathered in the Societeit de Harmonie. Â  Kota-kota besar di Indonesia pada umumnya memiliki landmark atau ciri khusus yang menjadi lambang keunikan dan keindahan kota yang bersangkutan. Salah satu landmark kota colonial yang terpenting adalah gedung societeit sebagai pusat hiburan. Penelitian ini mengkaji fungsi dan peran Societeit de Harmonie di Batavia pada abad ke-19 di tengah-tengah kehidupan masyarakat kota Batavia yang heterogen dan multietnis. Melalui studi dokumen dan arsip-arsip sezaman, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Societeit de Harmoni merupakan bangunan termegah dibandingkan bangunan societeit lainnya di Batavia pada abad ke-19. Oleh karena itu, bangunan ini dikenal oleh seluruh warga kota meskipun yang dapat mengakses dan memanfaatkan bangunan ini hanya kalangan terbatas. Hanya golongan elit Eropa saja yang dapat masuk dan menggunakan gedung Societeit de Harmonie. Kehadiran tempat hiburan itu juga merepresentasikan masuknya nilai-nilai baru (Barat) yang mewarnai dan menjadi bagian penting dari perkembagan budaya kota Batavia selanjutnya. Nilai-nilai Barat ini bersanding dengan nilai-nilai local yang dipraktikkan masyarakat pribumi yang tinggal di sudut- sudut kota Batavia. Gaya hidup orang-orang Eropa yang tinggal di Batavia selama abad ke-19 dapat dikenali dari aktivitas mereka ketika berkumpul di Societeit de Harmonie. Â
