An artificial intelligence platform for the multihospital collaborative management of congenital cataracts
Erping Long,Haotian Lin,Zhenzhen Liu,Xiaohang Wu,Liming Wang,Jiewei Jiang,Yingying An,Zhuoling Lin,Xiaoyan Li,Jingjing Chen,Jing Li,Qianzhong Cao,Dongni Wang,Xiyang Liu,Weirong Chen,Yizhi Liu +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown that an AI agent using deep learning, and involving convolutional neural networks for diagnostics, risk stratification and treatment suggestions, accurately diagnoses and provides treatment decisions for congenital cataracts in an in silico test, a website-based study, in a ‘finding a needle in a haystack’ test and in a multihospital clinical trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic Efficacy and Therapeutic Decision-making Capacity of an Artificial Intelligence Platform for Childhood Cataracts in Eye Clinics: A Multicentre Randomized Controlled Trial
Haotian Lin,Ruiyang Li,Zhenzhen Liu,Jingjing Chen,Yahan Yang,Hui Chen,Zhuoling Lin,Weiyi Lai,Erping Long,Xiaohang Wu,Duoru Lin,Yi Zhu,Yi Zhu,Chuan Chen,Chuan Chen,Dongxuan Wu,Tongyong Yu,Qianzhong Cao,Xiaoyan Li,Jing Li,Wangting Li,Jinghui Wang,Mingmin Yang,Huiling Hu,Li Zhang,Yang Yu,Xuelan Chen,Jianmin Hu,Ke Zhu,Shuhong Jiang,Yalin Huang,Gang Tan,Jialing Huang,Xiaoming Lin,Xinyu Zhang,Lixia Luo,Y. Liu,Xialin Liu,Bing Cheng,Danying Zheng,Mingxing Wu,Weirong Chen,Yizhi Liu +42 more
TL;DR: CC-Cruisers exhibited less accurate performance comparing to senior consultants in diagnosing childhood cataracts and making treatment decisions, however, the medical service provided by CC-Cruiser was less time-consuming and achieved a high level of patient satisfaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness of a short message reminder in increasing compliance with pediatric cataract treatment: A randomized trial
Haotian Lin,Weirong Chen,Lixia Luo,Nathan Congdon,Xinyu Zhang,Xiaojian Zhong,Zhaochuan Liu,Wan Chen,Changrui Wu,Danying Zheng,Daming Deng,Shaobi Ye,Zhuoling Lin,Xia Zou,Yizhi Liu +14 more
TL;DR: The SMS reminders significantly improved follow-up adherence in pediatric cataract treatment and using readily available mobile phone resources may be an effective and economic strategy to improve management of Childhood Cataract in China.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy and safety of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery versus conventional phacoemulsification for cataract: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
TL;DR: Femtosecond laser pretreatment can reduce phaco energy and EPT, which may reduce the heat damage to ocular tissues by ultrasound, which might be beneficial for patients with dense cataract and/or low preoperative endothelial cell values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of corneal astigmatism before cataract surgery in Chinese patients
TL;DR: Corneal astigmatism largely fell between 0.25 and 1.25 D in these predominantly elderly female Chinese patients, and ATRAstigmatism increased with age, and against‐the‐rule astigma increased significantly with older age.
