Journal ArticleDOI
Canadian Guidelines for Economic Evaluation of Pharmaceuticals
George W. Torrance,George W. Torrance,David Blaker,Allan S. Detsky,Wendy Kennedy,François Schubert,Devidas Menon,Peter Tugwell,Richard Konchak,Eleanor Hubbard,Theresa Firestone +10 more
TL;DR: The intent of the guidelines is to provide guidance to doers and users of studies, by laying out the general ‘state of the art’ regarding methods, and by providing specific methodological advice on many matters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Economic Impact of Same-Day Home Discharge After Uncomplicated Transradial Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Bolus-Only Abciximab Regimen
Stéphane Rinfret,Wendy Kennedy,Jean Lachaine,Anne Lemay,Josep Rodés-Cabau,David Cohen,Olivier Costerousse,Olivier F. Bertrand +7 more
TL;DR: In a real-world setting, same-day home discharge after uncomplicated transradial PCI and a bolus-only abciximab regimen resulted in a 50% relative reduction in medical costs.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-dose intravenous proton pump inhibition following endoscopic therapy in the acute management of patients with bleeding peptic ulcers in the USA and Canada: a cost-effectiveness analysis.
TL;DR: The efficacy of high‐dose intravenous proton pump inhibition has recently been shown, yet its cost‐effectiveness remains poorly studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Work-exacerbated asthma and occupational asthma: do they really differ?
Catherine Lemière,Louis-Phillippe Boulet,Simone Chaboillez,Amélie Forget,Samah Chiry,Hélène Villeneuve,Philippe Prince,Karim Maghni,Wendy Kennedy,Lucie Blais +9 more
TL;DR: Workers with WEA appeared to have features of greater asthma severity than workers with OA, and both OA and WEA were associated with greater health care use and 10-fold higher direct costs than NWRA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cost-effectiveness of proton-pump inhibition before endoscopy in upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Salman Al–Sabah,Alan N. Barkun,Karl Herba,Viviane Adam,Carlo A Fallone,Serge Mayrand,Gilles Pomier Layrargues,Wendy Kennedy,Marc Bardou +8 more
TL;DR: With conservative estimates and high-quality data, IVPPIs given before endoscopy are slightly more effective and costly than no administration and in Canada, this approach becomes dominant as the duration of hospitalization for high-risk ulcer patients increases or that of low- risk ulcers patients decreases.
