Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of thioacetamide on the composition and biosynthesis of nucleolar and nuclear ribonucleic acid in rat liver.
TL;DR: In this study it was found that administration of thioacetamide increased the nuclear RNA pool in liver, mainly by increasing the synthesis of guanineand cytosine-rich 35 S and 45 S RNA in the nucleolar fraction.
Journal Article
Studies on acidic nuclear proteins of the walker tumor and liver.
William J. Steele,Harris Busch +1 more
TL;DR: Although the amino acid analyses of most of the fractions were remarkably similar in the higher concentrations of glutamic and aspartic acids than the basic amino acids, the glutamic acid content of a number of fractions of liver was higher than that of the tumor, and individual fractions differed in their content of glycine, leucine, lysine, serine, and valine.
Journal ArticleDOI
A nuclear ribonucleoprotein network
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of 28-S RNA in the nucleolus
TL;DR: The base composition of whole nucleolar RNA supports the evidence that the nucleolus synthesizes precursors of the 50–60-S subunits of the ribosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation of nucleoli.
TL;DR: The role of the nucleolus in synthesis of RNA for cytoplasmic particles has been commented on previously, particularly in connection with the interesting studies on enucleolation by Perry et al as discussed by the authors.
