Prevention of Hepatitis B Virus Reactivation in Patients With Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma With Lamivudine
Winnie Yeo,Edwin P. Hui,Anthony T.C. Chan,Wing M. Ho,Kwok Chi Lam,Paul K.S. Chan,Tony Mok,Jam J. Lee,Frankie Mo,Philip J. Johnson +9 more
TL;DR: Prophylactic lamivudine significantly reduces the incidence and morbidity of HBV reactivation in NPC patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatitis B virus reactivation during cytotoxic chemotherapy-enhanced viral replication precedes overt hepatitis.
TL;DR: During the course of a longitudinal study of HBsAg‐seropositive cancer patients who were monitored during standard chemotherapy, the opportunity was available to test the hypothesis that HBV reactivation may, indeed, have been the cause but thatHBV DNA levels became negative by the time ALT levels peaked and the clinical diagnosis of hepatitis was made.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatitis B virus reactivation associated with anti-neoplastic therapy.
Winnie Yeo,Henry Lik-Yuen Chan +1 more
TL;DR: The clinical course of reactivation in the two HBV‐infected sub‐populations, and the role of anti‐virals in the prevention and management of HBV reactivating in association with cytotoxic chemotherapy and biological therapies are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of chemotherapeutic response in ovarian cancer with DNA microarray expression profiling.
Zachariah E. Selvanayagam,Tak Hong Cheung,Nien Wei,Ragini Vittal,Keith W.K. Lo,Winnie Yeo,Tsunekazu Kita,Roald Ravatn,Tony K.H. Chung,Yick Fu Wong,Khew Voon Chin +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cDNA microarray examination of the expression profiles of eight primary ovarian cancers was performed and the response of these patients to chemotherapy from their expression profiles was predicted using a voice-speech-pattern recognition algorithm.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Randomized Assessor-Blinded Wait-List-Controlled Trial to Assess the Effectiveness of Acupuncture in the Management of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy.
Alex Molassiotis,Lorna K.P. Suen,Hui Lin Cheng,Tony Mok,Sara C. Y. Lee,Chao Wang,Paul H. Lee,Howan Leung,Vicky T.C. Chan,Thomas K.H. Lau,Winnie Yeo +10 more
TL;DR: Testing the effectiveness of an 8-week course of acupuncture in the management of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in cancer patients who were receiving or had received neurotoxic chemotherapy found it to be an effective intervention.
