Journal ArticleDOI

Taste responses in patients with Parkinson’s disease

TL;DR: Perceived intensity, pleasantness, and identification of the sucrose, quinine, citric acid, or sodium chloride samples did not differ between the PD patients and controls, and patients with PD may present enhanced taste acuity in terms of electrogustometric threshold.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sweet liking in patients with Parkinson's disease

TL;DR: Pleasant tastes and odors are considered phylogenetically old natural rewards and their hedonic evaluation is regarded as a good indicator of the reward system function, and the present results suggest that PD does not lead to any obvious alterations in pleasantness ratings of chemosensory stimuli.
Journal ArticleDOI

Depressive symptoms and taste reactivity in humans

TL;DR: Data suggest that depressive symptoms may not influence taste reactivity in nonclinical population and that BDI scores were not associated with electrogustometric thresholds.
