Journal ArticleDOI
Immunoglobulin domain crossover as a generic approach for the production of bispecific IgG antibodies
Wolfgang Schaefer,Jörg T. Regula,Monika Bähner,Jürgen Michael Schanzer,Rebecca Croasdale,Harald Dürr,Christian Gassner,Guy Georges,Hubert Kettenberger,Sabine Imhof-Jung,Manfred Schwaiger,Kay Stubenrauch,Claudio Sustmann,Markus Thomas,Werner Scheuer,Christian Klein +15 more
TL;DR: Applying the three possible “CrossMab” formats, bispecific antibodies against angiopoietin-2 and vascular endothelial growth factor A are generated and show that they can be produced by standard techniques, exhibit stabilities comparable to natural antibodies, and bind both targets simultaneously with unaltered affinity.
Patent
Bivalent, bispecific antibodies
TL;DR: In this article, the present invention relates to novel domain exchanged, bivalent, bispecific antibodies, their manufacture and use, and their use relates to the use of domain exchange.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progress in overcoming the chain association issue in bispecific heterodimeric IgG antibodies
Christian Klein,Claudio Sustmann,Markus Thomas,Kay Stubenrauch,Rebecca Croasdale,Jürgen Michael Schanzer,Ulrich Brinkmann,Hubert Kettenberger,Jörg T. Regula,Wolfgang Schaefer +9 more
TL;DR: This review discusses the state of the art in bispecific heterodimeric IgG antibodies, with an emphasis on recent progress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epitope characterization and crystal structure of GA101 provide insights into the molecular basis for type I/II distinction of CD20 antibodies.
Gerhard Niederfellner,Alfred Lammens,Olaf Mundigl,Guy Georges,Wolfgang Schaefer,Manfred Schwaiger,Andreas G. Franke,Kornelius Wiechmann,Kornelius Wiechmann,Stefan Jenewein,Jerry W. Slootstra,Peter Timmerman,Annika Brännström,Frida Lindstrom,Ekkehard Mössner,Pablo Umana,Karl-Peter Hopfner,Christian Klein +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the first X-ray structure of a type II antibody was determined by crystallizing the obinutuzumab (GA101) Fab fragment alone and in complex with a CD20 cyclopeptide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interactions between nonconjugated .pi.-systems
