Dengue-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis in an adult: A case report and literature review.

TL;DR: It would be important to differentially diagnose dengue-associated HLH from severe DHF after a trip to Thailand, and early recognition and initiation of steroid treatment would be crucial for the successful treatment of d Dengue fever complicated by HLH.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effectiveness of the influenza vaccine at preventing hospitalization due to acute exacerbation of cardiopulmonary disease in Korea from 2011 to 2012

TL;DR: It is shown that influenza vaccination significantly reduced the risk of hospitalization, especially due to acute exacerbation of IHD and CHF, in patients aged 65 y and older, and the vaccine should be given primarily to patients with underlying cardiovascular disease, particularly those 65 y of age and older.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influenza vaccination coverage rate and factors associated with vaccination in people with chronic disease.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated influenza vaccination coverage rate and perceptions of people with chronic disease on vaccination in Korea and found that the vaccination rate was relatively high in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis and asthma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Delay-adjusted age- and sex-specific case fatality rates for COVID-19 in South Korea: Evolution in the estimated risk of mortality throughout the epidemic.

TL;DR: Both the delay-adjusted CFRs and crude CFRs evolved substantially, particularly early in the epidemic, converging only from mid-April 2020 and highlighting the need for caution when interpreting CFRs calculated at a given time point.
