Effect of spontaneously generated coherence on Kerr nonlinearity in a four-level atomic system

TL;DR: In this article, a scheme for giant enhancement of the Kerr nonlinearity in a four-level atomic system in which spontaneously generated coherence is present is proposed, which is mainly based on the presence of an extra atomic coherence induced by the spontaneously generated CO. Numerical values obtained by solving the density matrix equations agree well with these exact analytical values.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of Kerr nonlinearity via spontaneously generated coherence in a four-level N-type atomic system

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of spontaneous generated coherence (SGC) on Kerr nonlinearity of a four-level N-type system was investigated, and it was found that the enhancement of Kerr non-linearity was mainly due to the generation of extra coherences induced by the superposition of the two SGC channels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electromagnetically induced transparency and enhanced self-Kerr nonlinearity in a four-level scheme

TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction of three laser fields with a four-level quantum system in a tripod configuration was analyzed and an analytical expression for the linear susceptibility and nonlinear susceptibility of a weak-probe field was obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced self-Kerr nonlinearity in spontaneous emission

TL;DR: In this article, a scheme for achieving giant enhancement of the self-Kerr nonlinearity in a four-level Y-type atom with two highest nearly degenerate lying levels was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-photon electromagnetically induced absorption in a dressed atomic system

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present a theoretical treatment for the complete dynamics process of three-photon electromagnetically induced absorption (TPEIA), where two counter-propagating coupling fields are tuned to the upper line in a closed-cycle ladder-type three-level atomic system.
