Systematic z-scan measurements of the third order nonlinearity of chalcogenide glasses

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported measurements of the third order optical nonlinearity of 51 chalcogenide glasses in the near infrared and found that the measured values are an extremely good fit to the semi-empirical Miller's rule whilst the normalized real and imaginary parts are in satisfactory agreement with the scaling for indirect gap semiconductors reported by Dinu.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mid-infrared supercontinuum covering 2.0-16 μm in a low-loss telluride single-mode fiber

TL;DR: In this paper, a low-loss telluride glass fiber has been demonstrated to achieve state-of-the-art performance in mid-infrared (MIR) supercontinuum (SC) detection.
Journal ArticleDOI

A study of nonlinear optical properties in Bi2O3–WO3–TeO2 glasses

TL;DR: In this article, a series of bismuth tungsten tellurite glasses were prepared and their densities, linear refractive indices and transmission spectra were measured from ultraviolet absorption edges.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation between structural and physical properties in Ge-Sb-Se glasses

TL;DR: The role of chemical composition and mean coordination number (MCN) in determining the structural and physical properties of three groups of Ge-Sb-Se glasses with compositions GexSb10Se90-x, GeSb15Se85 -x, and GExSb20Se80-x has been systematically studied as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Silver Nanoparticles Enhanced Upconversion Luminescence in Er3+/Yb3+ Codoped Bismuth-Germanate Glasses

TL;DR: The surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of noble metal nanoparticles (NPs) fostered a new area of nanophotonics, especially in the selective photon absorption and scattering as mentioned in this paper.
