An experimental study of mitigating coastal sand dune erosion by microbial- and enzymatic-induced carbonate precipitation
Kai-Wei Liu,Kai-Wei Liu,Ning-Jun Jiang,Jun-De Qin,Jun-De Qin,Yi-Jie Wang,Chao-Sheng Tang,Xiao-Le Han +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, two bio-mediated methods, microbial-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) and enzymatic-influenced carbonates precipitation (EICP), were investigated and compared for their effectiveness in mitigating sand dune erosion under wave attack.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bio-mediated soil improvement: An introspection into processes, materials, characterization and applications
Ning-Jun Jiang,Ning-Jun Jiang,Yi-Jie Wang,Jian Chu,Satoru Kawasaki,Chao-Sheng Tang,Liang Cheng,Yan-Jun Du,Bettadapura S. Shashank,Devendra Singh,Xiao-Le Han,Yuze Wang +11 more
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of enrichment media on the stimulation of native ureolytic bacteria in calcareous sand
TL;DR: In this paper, a batch-type experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of enrichment medium type on bio-stimulation efficiency, which showed that the selection of effective medium type and urea concentration depends on whether a particular enrichment medium can establish the dominance of ureolytic activity over other metabolic activities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extraction and Characterization of Microplastics from Organic Solid Matrices and their Remediation
Goli Venkata Siva Naga Sai,Evangelos K. Paleologos,Arvin Farid,Abdel-Mohsen O. Mohamed,Brendan C. O'Kelly,Maisa El Gamal,Magdalena Daria Vaverková,Ning-Jun Jiang,Jing Jing Wang,Liwen W. Xiao,Prithvendra Singh,Xiao-Le Han,Yunhong Shi,Dunzhu Li,Amit sengupta,Sree Lalitha Kayali,Yashita Y. Singh,Arif Mohammad,Devendra Singh +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors assess the methodologies and protocols used for extraction of microplastics from organic solid matrices (OSMs) with organic (OM) > 5%, making the comparison of results difficult.
