Observation of valley-dependent beams in photonic graphene
Fusheng Deng,Yong Sun,Xiao Wang,Rui Xue,Yuan Li,Haitao Jiang,Yunlong Shi,Kai Chang,Hong Chen +8 more
TL;DR: The results confirm that there are two inequivalent Dirac points that lead to two distinct valleys in photonic graphene, which could be used to control the flow of light and might be use to carry information in valley polarized beam splitter, collimator or guiding device.
Journal ArticleDOI
Valley-dependent beams controlled by pseudomagnetic field in distorted photonic graphene
Fusheng Deng,Yunmei Li,Yong Sun,Xiao Wang,Zhiwei Guo,Yunlong Shi,Haitao Jiang,Kai Chang,Hong Chen +8 more
TL;DR: The photonic analogy for generation and control of valley pseudospin currents using the pseudomagnetic fields induced in strained graphene is investigated in a microwave regime to find an external-field-free photonic transportation behavior that may be very useful in controlling the flow of light in future valley-polarized devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transport properties of disordered photonic crystals around a Dirac-like point
Xiao Wang,Haitao Jiang,Yuan Li,Chao Yan,Fusheng Deng,Yong Sun,Yunhui Li,Yunlong Shi,Hong Chen +8 more
TL;DR: By introducing positional shift in the PhCs, this work studies the dependence of the longitudinal mode on the disorder and finds that at a frequency slightly above the Dirac-like point, in which the longitudinalmode is absent, the transmission is insensitive to the disorder.
