Effects of Chloride Ion Binding on Microstructure of Cement Pastes

TL;DR: In this paper, the total chloride ion content, free chloride concentration in expressed pore solution, Friedel’s salt content, and porosity of portland cement and fly ash combination pastes after 7-days of water curing followed by 28 or 150-days immersion in water or 0.3, 0.7, 1.0, and 2.0
Journal ArticleDOI

The dual role of martensitic transformation in fatigue crack growth

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors identify two antagonistic mechanisms mediated by martensitic transformation during the fatigue process through in situ observations and demonstrate the dual role of DIMT in fatigue crack growth and its strong crack-size dependence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative thermographic method for fatigue life prediction under variable amplitude loading

TL;DR: In this article , the QTM approach was applied to predict the fatigue life of materials and welded joints under variable amplitude loading in both low and high cycle fatigue regimes, and the results showed that the approach was able to take into account the loading sequence effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiaxial fatigue evaluation of type 316L stainless steel based on critical plane and energy dissipation

TL;DR: In this paper , a comparative study of the critical plane approach (CPA) and the dissipated energy approach (DEA) for multiaxial fatigue evaluation on an AISI 316L steel was conducted.
