Polyvinyl chloride microplastics induce growth inhibition and oxidative stress in Cyprinus carpio var. larvae.

TL;DR: Basic toxicological data was provided toward elucidating and quantifying the impacts of PVC microplastics on freshwater organisms and altered antioxidant-related gene expression was observed in the livers of larvae exposed to the PVCmicroplastics.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel male-specific DNA sequence in the common carp, Cyprinus carpio.

TL;DR: The sex-specific chromosome region may be characterized and used to study mechanisms of chromosome evolution in this fish species and to rapidly and accurately identify the gender of Yellow River C. carpio.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxic effects of imidacloprid on adult loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus).

TL;DR: The joint toxicity of pesticides commonly used in paddy fields (imidacloprid and lambda-cyhalothrin) on M. anguillicaudatus was investigated, and it was confirmed that a synergistic effect existing in the binary mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toxicity of imidazoles ionic liquid [C16mim]Cl to HepG2 cells.

TL;DR: Evaluated toxicity of 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride to human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells revealed that [C16min]Cl exerted genotoxicity, oxidative stress and induced apoptosis in HepG2 cells; hence, it is not a healthy solvent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cloning and identification of a female-specific DNA marker in Paramisgurnus dabryanus

TL;DR: This study used random amplified polymorphic DNA fingerprinting with 220 primers to identify a sex-specific DNA marker in pooled DNA and individual DNA samples from male and female P. dabryanus, and proposed to use it to rapidly and specifically identify the gender of this emerging aquaculture species from the ancient Yellow River Wetland.
