Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of virulence factors and expression of specific genes between uropathogenic Escherichia coli and avian pathogenic E. coli in a murine urinary tract infection model and a chicken challenge model.

TL;DR: The transcriptional profile of virulence genes among APEC and UPEC in vivo was compared and it was found that in the same model (murine UTI or chicken challenge), various genes of UPEC U17 and APEC E058 showed a similar tendency of expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of the AIDA-I gene sequence and prevalence in Escherichia coli isolates from pigs with post-weaning diarrhoea and oedema disease.

TL;DR: The data indicated that AIDA-I may be an occasional virulence factor in post-weaning diarrhoea and oedema disease in pigs, that it has the potential to transfer between porcine and human E. coli, and that there is a genetic diversity in orfB between human and porcines E. Escherichia coli.
