Two-Dimensional Ultrathin MXene Ceramic Nanosheets for Photothermal Conversion

TL;DR: The great potential of Ti3C2 nanosheets (MXenes) is promised as a novel ceramic photothermal agent used for cancer therapy and may arouse much interest in exploring MXene-based ceramic biomaterials to benefit the biomedical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of solid solution formation on densification of hot-pressed ZrC ceramics with MC (M = V, Nb, and Ta) additions

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of MC additions on densification was analyzed in terms of the solubility limit and kinetics of formation of MC solid solutions with ZrC, and it was shown that the VC addition resulted in larger grains, compared to ZRC ceramics with NbC and TaC additions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Densification behavior and properties of hot-pressed ZrC ceramics with Zr and graphite additives

TL;DR: In this article, the densification of hot-pressed ZrC ceramics with Zr and graphite additive was studied at 1800-2000°C and the results showed that Zr/C molar ratio at 1:2 was achieved by adding co-doped additive of Zr plus C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reactive Hot Pressing of ZrC–SiC Ceramics at Low Temperature

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction between ZrC and Si resulted in the formation of ZRC1−x, SiC, and ZrSi, with relative densities in excess of 98%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pressureless sintering mechanism and microstructure of ZrB2–SiC ceramics doped with boron

TL;DR: In this article, a pressureless densification mechanism and microstructure development in ZrB2-20 vol.% SiC ceramics with boron additive were investigated.
