Journal ArticleDOI
Lignin: a nature-inspired sun blocker for broad-spectrum sunscreens
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated lignin for the development of high-performance broad-spectrum sunscreens and found that the effect of 2 wt% Lignin can reach that of SPF 30.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of uniform colloidal spheres from lignin, a renewable resource recovered from pulping spent liquor
TL;DR: In this article, the self-assembled structure and colloid formation mechanism of the acetylated lignin (ACL) were investigated by DLS, SLS, TEM, AFM, XPS, FTIR, elemental analysis and contact angle measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
pH-Induced lignin surface modification to reduce nonspecific cellulase binding and enhance enzymatic saccharification of lignocelluloses.
Hongming Lou,Hongming Lou,Junyong Zhu,Junyong Zhu,Tian Qing Lan,Tian Qing Lan,Huranran Lai,Xueqing Qiu +7 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that the increases in enzymatic saccharification efficiencies at elevated pH for different pretreated lignocelluloses are solely the result of decreased nonspecific cellulase binding to lignin is validated, contradicting the well-established concept that the optimal pH is 4.8-5.0.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biomimetic Supertough and Strong Biodegradable Polymeric Materials with Improved Thermal Properties and Excellent UV-Blocking Performance
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of sodium lignosulfonate as dispersant of coal water slurry
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of lignosulfonates on coal water slurry viscosity was investigated and it was shown that the adsorption behavior of the SL on the coal water interface has a much greater effect on the viscosities of coal water.
