Hold time effects on low cycle fatigue behavior of HAYNES 230® superalloy at high temperatures

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of hold time on the cyclic stress response and fatigue life was studied on a nickel-based superalloy, HAYNES 230®, at temperatures ranging from 816 to 982°C in laboratory air.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of temperature and hold time on creep-fatigue crack-growth behavior of HAYNES® 230® alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the creep-fatigue crack-growth behavior of a HAYNES 230 superalloy was investigated at the temperatures of 649, 816 and 927°C in laboratory air.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hold-time effect on the elevated-temperature crack growth behavior of solid-solution-strengthened superalloys

TL;DR: In this article, Ni-based HAYNES 230 and HASTELLOY X superalloys were studied at 816 and 927°C in laboratory air. And they showed that the fatigue cracking path became dominantly intergranular if the hold time increased to 2min, indicating that the timedependent creep damage mechanisms were in control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fracture modes of HAYNES® 230® alloy during fatigue-crack-growth at room and elevated temperatures

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of carbides in the fracture process was discussed and an oxide-removal technique was applied on the high-temperature fracture surfaces when dark oxide layer precluded the identification of fracture features.
