Journal ArticleDOI

Prioritising performance indicators for sustainable construction and development of university campuses using an integrated assessment approach

TL;DR: In this article, a new approach that uses a qualitative scoring method (QSM) and an analytical hierarchical process (AHP) for determining and prioritising the key sustainability indicators for local university campuses is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Techno-economic analysis for constructing solar photovoltaic projects on building envelopes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a new methodology that combines a life cycle cost (LCC) approach and a pixel method for visualising economic performances of constructing photovoltaic (PV) projects, where the time of recovering the expenditure invested in a PV project is then considered a main economic indicator and is formulated mathematically in the pixel unit representing an actual area of 3cm-×-3cm in an empirical study.
Journal ArticleDOI

A BIM-Based study on the comprehensive benefit analysis for prefabricated building projects in China

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the economic benefits of implementing prefabricated construction techniques in order to surpass the economic barrier and promote the development of prefab-ricated buildings in China and found that the economic benefit brought by shortening the construction period can be regarded as the most significant contributor.
Journal ArticleDOI

BIM-based life-cycle environmental assessment of prefabricated buildings

TL;DR: In this article, a comparative environmental analysis of conventional and prefabricated construction techniques utilizing a building information modelling (BIM) technique is presented. But, the authors focus on the environmental impact of prefab-based construction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimating solar energy potentials on pitched roofs

TL;DR: In this paper, a pixel-based approach to estimate solar energy potentials over pitched roofs based on the pretext of architectural design drawings is developed. But, the work is limited to a single house with nine roofs.
