Joining mechanism of Ti/Al dissimilar alloys during laser welding-brazing process
TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructures of fusion welding and brazing zones were analyzed in details by transmission electron microscope (TEM) and it was found that fusion welding zone consist of α-Al grains and ternary near-eutectic structure with α -Al, Si and Mg 2 Si Interfacial reaction layers of brazeling joint were composed of α -Ti, nanosize granular Ti 7 Al 5 Si 12 and serration-shaped TiAl 3

Improving interfacial reaction nonhomogeneity during laser welding–brazing aluminum to titanium
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of laser welding and V-shaped groove on the nonhomogeneity of interfacial reactions was investigated by finite element method (FEM) numerical simulation and experimental validation, and the results indicated that the Vshaped groove can make the interface roughly parallel to the isotherm of the temperature field and further improve homogenization of the interfacial reaction along the interface in comparison with circular spot laser.

Si diffusion behavior during laser welding-brazing of Al alloy and Ti alloy with Al-12Si filler wire
TL;DR: In this article, the Si diffusion behavior has a significant effect on the formation of interfacial intermetallic compounds and a model for the prediction of the chemical potential for ternary alloy was established.
