As the basic paradigm of health management has changed from diagnosis and treatment to preventative management, health improvement and management has received growing attention in societies around the world. Recently the number of obese youth has risen globally and obesity has caused serious problems regarding almost all of the diseases of these days. This study presents dietary nutrition recommendations based on knowledge for obese youth. The knowledge-based dietary nutrition recommendations herein include not only static dietary nutritional data but also individualized diet menus for them by utilizing knowledge-based context data through a collaborative filtering method. The suggested method utilizes the basic information on obese youth, forms a similarity clustering with a high correlation, applies the similarity weight on {user-menu} matrix within the similarity clustering and utilizes the knowledge based collaborative filtering to recommend the dietary nutritional menu. Also by using the knowledge-based context-aware modeling, the study constitutes a {user-menu} merge matrix and solves the sparse problem of previous recommendation system. The suggested method herein, unlike the conventional uniformed dietary nutrition recommendations for obesity management, is capable of providing the personalized recommendations. Also through mobile devices, users can receive personalized recipes and menus anytime and anywhere. By using the proposed method, the researcher develops a mobile application of dietary nutrition recommendation service for obese management. A mobile interface will be built herein and applied in an experiment to test its logical validity and effectiveness.

Knowledge-based dietary nutrition recommendation for obese management

Recently, with changing paradigms in health, the focus of healthcare is shifting from treatment after contracting disease to prevention and early diagnosis of disease. Accordingly, the healthcare paradigm is changing from diagnosis and treatment to preventive management, emphasizing prevention of chronic diseases, such as obesity. In particular, obesity in children and adolescents has become a global issue. Lifestyle and health management using BT---IT convergence is needed to improve and manage the health of children and adolescents, and convenience and accessibility must be improved. For that, use of a machine-to-machine (M2M) u-health cluster that allows wireless network connection is increasing, along with wireless networks for measuring biometrics. Expanded to communications between people and objects as well as between objects, M2M refers to the next-generation convergence infra-architecture that offers intelligent services through various media. Because various wireless devices form a cluster when building a service platform using M2M, when the number of users with various M2M devices increases, data traffic increases and causes network overload, deteriorating system performance. To solve this problem, services are increasingly being built by combining a conventional network and Wi-Fi technology. However, in an M2M network, there is a limitation due to low transfer speed, because the network processes biometrics and data through different sensor nodes, and wireless communications based on the system is composed of different wireless sensor nodes. Thus, in this paper, we proposed a knowledge-based health service considering user convenience using a hybrid wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture. For knowledge-based health services in conventional M2M-based smart health services, hybrid Wi-Fi P2P and wireless devices must be linked. Because there are different ways to link hybrid Wi-Fi P2P devices, depending on the network environment, in this study, a dynamic configuration mechanism is applied to Wi-Fi P2P linkage of wireless devices in an M2M environment. The proposed service provides a high-quality health service (whenever patients use the knowledge-based health service) by building a network using a dispersed cross-layer optimization algorithm that optimizes variables of the transmission control protocol/internet protocol stack in order to improve the energy efficiency of the u-health sensor network and system reliability.

Knowledge-based health service considering user convenience using hybrid Wi-Fi P2P

In this paper, we present a close reading of work in ubicomp of applications for older people. Starting from three lines of enquiry defined in the inaugural issue of this journal, we discuss how ubicomp research has presented the relationship between technologies and older users. We base our reasoning on a review of papers published in Personal and Ubiquitous Computing (1997---2014). The lines of enquiry refer to paradigms (functional vs. sociotechnical), users (stereotype and involvement), and contexts (indoor and/or outdoor). These themes address the presentation of SUITCASE project (SUstainable Integrated & Territorial CAre SErvices). This is a two-year research on care services for older citizens within the smart home construct. We develop an initial framework that not only provides a cohesive view of technologies for older people, but also serves as a salient guideline for reflective design which extends beyond the target population. This framework may also address future design projects, funding schemes, and editorial policies.

Ubiquitous technologies for older people

As an interest in health and disease has increased, medical service has changed to prevention of disease and health care from treatment oriented service. Medical service industry is creating various services and added value for promotion of health. Aging, extension of life expectancy, increase in lifestyle and income growth have brought about a change in paradigm of medical service which led smart health to become an important issue. Smart health caused medical service for promotion of health to change into remote medical treatment that uses personal health record from medical service which has been provided by mainly large hospitals. Medical service for promotion of health has developed into u-Healthcare which monitors condition of health in everyday life. This enabled problems of time and space constraints that occur in medical service for promotion of health that requires a medical doctor to examine bio-signal related information of a patient while facing a patient to be solved. It is difficult for a remote medical treatment to care for chronic patients who require a care of lifestyle because it focuses on treating specific diseases. As a remote medical treatment does not provide innovative medical service and it only delivers general bio information on a patient to a medical doctor remotely, remote medical open platform is needed. Thus, in this paper, we proposed a PHR open platform based smart health services using the distributed object group framework. A PHR open platform based smart health system is distributed object group framework based smart health service for managing chronic diseases. When Medical WBAN sensor uses multi-channel in transmitting data, emergency data is very important in patient's life, smart health environment is built using distributed network considering importance according to data. As WBAN sensor is very different from other networks in terms of application, architecture and density of development, it is important for WBAN sensor to be combined with external network. High quality of service of integrated network as well as link connectivity should be maintained. Since automatic diagnosis function should be reinforced in order for remote diagnosis service to be provided, integration of each small unit system and model design are important. Therefore, smart health network environment that makes the most of performance of distributed network based on automation technique and distributed agent for optimum design of system is built.

PHR open platform based smart health service using distributed object group framework

A system and method for managing sizing of a plurality of sliding download windows in a virtual file system commences when a user device accesses a server in a cloud-based platform. An application on the user device issues a first file request for an object that is stored in the cloud-based platform. The virtual file system module allocates a first sliding window and prospectively downloads additional portions of the object into the first sliding window. Upon a second file request from the application, the virtual file system module allocates a second sliding window and increases the size of the first sliding window when the application requests access to the additional portions of the object that were prospectively downloaded into the first sliding window. The size of the second sliding window is decreased when a further application request for additional portions of the object hasn't been received within a time period.

File-agnostic data downloading in a virtual file system for cloud-based shared content

The join is an important operator in processing data streams. To produce outputs continuously over unbounded data streams, sliding windows are generally used to limit the scope of the join at a certain time. In the existing join algorithms, only a simple type of windows have been considered, which are updated whenever a new data item arrives on any input stream. On the other hand, a more common type of windows have not been addressed yet, whose intervals are updated periodically, i.e., slid by a predefined time interval. In this paper, we consider the time-slide windows in joining multiple data streams. The algorithm for the time-slide window join can vary according to (i) how frequently the join is evaluated and (ii) which structure is used for windowing. Regarding this, possible algorithms are discussed, and experimental results that compare their performances are provided in this paper.

As the elderly population has rapidly increased in recent years, people aged 60 and older now constitute 20---30 % of the population in developed countries. Due to reduced overall mental and physical functionality, people have developed various chronic degenerative diseases related to the circulatory and musculoskeletal systems. An aging society leads to longer life spans as well as the need to develop special residential facilities for disease treatment and support of the elderly population. In this ubiquitous age, people can obtain information regardless of place or time and therefore receive telemedicine health services anywhere and anytime. This situation requires embedded system technology for portable telemedicine devices, computer network technology for remote examination, information security technology to manage individual medical data, database technology to process and store a large quantity of medical information, expert system technology to help doctors make sound judgments, software design and test technology to create easy-to-use software, image processing technology to make accurate diagnoses based on image information, multi-searching technology to analyze complex data from various medical institutions, staff, and service providers, and context-aware technology based on wireless sensors that can be used to understand the status of users requesting a specific telemedicine health service. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed the telemedicine health service using an LTE-A-based relay antenna. The antenna proposed in this paper is a planar monopole antenna in which a feed line and a radiation patch are connected in front of a substrate and a plane ground exists opposite to a dielectric in telemedicine. Since a planar monopole antenna requires a length of lambda/4 to generate resonance, it has a demerit in size. The proposed antenna was assigned a current value close to 0 at the central part of the square loop emitter in order to supplement this demerit, and the physical length of the antenna was minimized by folding it inside the square loop center to a frequency of 900 MHz, which is the frequency of domestic SK's LTE band. In addition, coupling combination was applied at the center of the tip of the T-shape patch and the square loop line folded inside to generate a resonance of 2.4 GHz, which is the high-frequency band of the domestic LTE band. To maximize relay efficiency, relay power allocation and relay routing method were carried out. Selective transmission method was applied to improve reception of the LTE system.

Telemedicine health service using LTE-Advanced relay antenna

With the development of information and communication technology, we have been able to access and manage documents containing corporate information anytime and anywhere using smart devices. As the work environment changes to smart work, the scope of information distribution is expanded, and more efforts are needed to manage security. This paper proposes a file sharing system that enables users who have smart devices to manage and share files through mutual cooperation. Proposed file sharing system, the user can add a partner to share files with each other when uploading files kept by spliting the part of the file and the other uses an algorithm to store on the server. After converting the file to be uploaded to base64, it splits it into encrypted files among users, and then transmits it to the server when it wants to share. It is easy to manage and control files using dedicated application to view files and has high security. Using the system developed with proposed algorithm, it is possible to build a system with high efficiency even for SMEs(small and medium-sized enterprises) that can not pay much money for security.

File Sharing Algorithm based Mutual Cooperation using Smart Device

Mobile healthcare is a fusion of information technology and biotechnology and is a new type of health management service to keep people’s health at anytime and anywhere without regard to time and space. The WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) technology that collects bio signals and the data analysis and monitoring technology using mobile devices are essential for serving mobile healthcare. WBAN consisting of users with mobile devices meet another WBAN during movement, WBANs transmit data to the other media. Because of WBAN conflict, several nodes transmit data in same time slot so a collision will occur, resulting in the data transmission being failed and need more energy for re-transmission. In this thesis, we proposed a MAC protocol for WBAN with mobility to solve these problems. First, we proposed a superframe structure for WBAN. The proposed superframe consists of a TDMA(Time Division Muliple Access) based contention access phase with which a node can transmit data in its own time slot and a contention phase using CSMA/CA algorithm. Second, we proposed a network merging algorithm for conflicting WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol. When a WBAN with mobility conflicts with other WBAN, data frame collision is reduced through network reestablishment. Simulations are performed using a Castalia based on the OMNeT++ network simulation framework to estimate the performance of the proposed superframe and algorithms. We estimated the performance of WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol by comparing the performance of the WBAN based on IEEE 802.15.6. A Study on MAC Protocol Design for Mobile Healthcare

Falling can happen to anyone, anywhere at anytime and especially it is one of the risk factor that can lead causes of death of persons aged 65 and over. Recently, the study of fall detection mechanisms as a smart healthcare service based on the IoT(Internet of Things) are being actively investigated. In this paper, we implement a fall detection system using arduino as a smart sensor communicates with a smart device. When transmitting the information of the acceleration on a sensor smart sensor with a BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy), the smart device processing and analyzing this information. and determines a fall situation. A fall detection system based on the Internet of Things which using smart sensor and smart device, has the advantage of being able to overcome the mobility and portability constraints.
