An experimental study on reinforced concrete beams strengthened with prestressed near surface mounted CFRP strips

TL;DR: In this article, a total of 7 rectangular reinforced concrete beams were constructed for static load tests, of which one specimen was the reference beam and the other 6 beams were strengthened with FRP strips.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fatigue Reliability Assessment of Welded Steel Bridge Decks under Stochastic Truck Loads via Machine Learning

TL;DR: In this paper, a stochastic fatigue truck load model was developed for probabilistic modeling of fatigue stress ranges to investigate the fatigue reliability of welded steel girder bridges.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study of flexural fatigue performance of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with prestressed CFRP plates

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different strengthening methods on the flexural fatigue performance of the reinforced concrete (RC) beams was investigated, and it is evident from the experimental results that strengthening with prestressed CFRP plates significantly enhanced the monotonic and fatigue performances of reinforced concrete beams.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deflection monitoring and assessment for a suspension bridge using a connected pipe system: a case study in China

TL;DR: In this article, the application of a connected pipe system (CPS) to a suspension bridge in China for the purpose of vertical deflection monitoring and assessment was discussed, which mainly consists of three main parts: the pressure transmitters to detect the height change of liquid, the pipes to connect the reference point and measurement points and the liquid to fill the connected pipes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of fatigue performance of welded details in long-span steel bridges using long-term monitoring strain data

TL;DR: In this paper, a case study on the investigation of fatigue performance of welded details was presented, where long-term monitoring strain data of 4 years between 2006 and 2009 collected by the structural health monitoring system mounted on the Runyang Suspension Bridge and Runyang Cable-stayed Bridge were utilized.
