TL;DR: The ELI-BL 10 PW laser makes possible fundamental research topics from high-field physics to new extreme states of matter such as radiation-dominated ones, high-pressure quantum ones, warm dense matter (WDM) and ultra-relativistic plasmas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brilliant gamma-ray beam and electron–positron pair production by enhanced attosecond pulses
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a mechanism for brilliant γ-ray emission and dense GeV pairs creation accompanied with high-harmonic generation by using plasma mirror and an ultra short pulse with the intensity of 3'×'1023'W'cm−2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct laser acceleration of electron by an ultra intense and short-pulsed laser in under-dense plasma
TL;DR: In this paper, a 2.5-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation was used to investigate the direct laser acceleration of an electron by an ultra intense and short-pulsed laser interacting with under-dense plasma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progress in understanding the role of hot electrons for the shock ignition approach to inertial confinement fusion
Dimitri Batani,Luca Antonelli,F. Barbato,G. Boutoux,Arnaud Colaïtis,Jean-Luc Feugeas,Giulia Folpini,D. Mancelli,Ph. Nicolaï,J. J. Santos,J. Trela,Vladimir Tikhonchuk,Vladimir Tikhonchuk,J. Journal ArticleDOI
Stable long range proton acceleration driven by intense laser pulse with underdense plasmas
TL;DR: In this article, the W-BOA (breakout afterburner based on electrons accelerated by a wakefield) acceleration mechanism plays an important role for the proton energy enhancement in the area far from the target.
