Hydroxide nanoparticles for cultural heritage: Consolidation and protection of wall paintings and carbonate materials

TL;DR: The aim of the present contribution is to provide an up-to-date overview on the synthesis and preparation of colloidal systems tailored to the consolidation and protection of wall paintings, plasters and stones, highlighting the most recent improvements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Commercial Ca(OH)2 nanoparticles for the consolidation of immovable works of art

TL;DR: In this article, the carbonation of a commercial Ca(OH)2 nanoparticle formulation (Nanorestore®) was characterized through Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

NMR and other molecular and elemental spectroscopies for the characterization of samples from an outdoor mural painting by Siqueiros.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors presented the use of high resolution NMR as an outstanding tool for identifying with accuracy the structure of the polymers used as binders and the additives used as plasticizers in samples from a mural painted by David Alfaro Siqueiros between 1964 and 1972, an important period in which his artistic production has not been previously studied.
