Journal ArticleDOI

Adjuvant Corticosteroid Treatment in Adults With Influenza A (H7N9) Viral Pneumonia.

TL;DR: High-dose corticosteroid therapy significantly increased both 30-day and 60-day mortality and longer viral shedding in patients with influenza A (H7N9) viral pneumonia, whereas no significant impact was observed for low-to-moderate doses of Corticosteroids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio as an early new marker in AIV-H7N9-infected patients: a retrospective study.

TL;DR: The study found that NLR was independently associated with fatality, and is potentially a predictive prognostic biomarker in patients infected with the AIV-H7N9 influenza virus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis in Adults With Avian Influenza A (H7N9) Pneumonia in China: A Retrospective Study.

TL;DR: Smoking in the past year and antibiotic use for >7 days before admission were independently associated with IPA and provided important insights into the epidemiology and outcomes of IPA in patients with H7N9 infection in China.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factors Associated With Fatality Due to Avian Influenza A(H7N9) Infection in China.

TL;DR: Fatality among H7N9 virus infected patients occurred rapidly after hospital admission, especially among older patients, and was followed by severe hypoxemia and multisystem organ failure, showing that early neuraminidase-inhibitor therapy and reduction of secondary bacterial infections can help reduce mortality.
