Holey three-dimensional wood-based electrode for vanadium flow batteries
Miaolun Jiao,Tao Liu,Chaoji Chen,Meng Yue,Glenn Pastel,Yonggang Yao,Hua Xie,Wentao Gan,Amy Gong,Xianfeng Li,Liangbing Hu +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D wood-based electrode for vanadium flow batteries is presented. But the 3D-wood electrode inherits the intrinsic, vertically aligned channels (i.e., low tortuosity structure) of the original crude wood material, which provides fluent electrolyte transport paths in the flow battery system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly Efficient Water Treatment via a Wood-Based and Reusable Filter
Miaolun Jiao,Yonggang Yao,Chaoji Chen,Bo Jiang,Glenn Pastel,Zhiwei Lin,Qingyun Wu,Mingjin Cui,Shuaiming He,Liangbing Hu +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe how portable water filters are crucial to water purification for household or community scale usage and are especially popular in developing countries or remote areas without water treatment plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lignin-Based Direct Ink Printed Structural Scaffolds
Bo Jiang,Yonggang Yao,Zhiqiang Liang,Jinlong Gao,Gegu Chen,Qinqin Xia,Ruiyu Mi,Miaolun Jiao,Xizheng Wang,Liangbing Hu +9 more
TL;DR: This paper fabricates 3D structures with lignin no further refined and a more compact microstructure as well as different functionalities compared with printed cellulose by using a soft triblock copolymer as the crosslinking agent and demonstrates significantly improved stability in water and under heat, aswell as UV-blocking performance.

Inverse effect of morphotropic phase boundary on the magnetostriction of ferromagnetic Tb1−xGdxCo2
Chao Zhou,Shuai Ren,Huixin Bao,Sen Yang,Yonggang Yao,Yuanchao Ji,Xiaobing Ren,Yoshitaka Matsushita,Yoshio Katsuya,Masahiko Tanaka,Keisuke Kobayashi +10 more
TL;DR: Inverse effect of morphotropic phase boundary on magnetostriction of ferromagnetic Tb1−xGdxCo2 has been investigated in this paper, where Zhou et al. showed that morphotropic phases boundary has a negative effect on magnetization.
