Journal ArticleDOI
Performance and emission characteristics of a SI engine fueled by low calorific biogas blended with hydrogen
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation on a naturally aspirated (NA), 8-L spark ignition engine fueled by biogas with various methane concentrations was performed in terms of its thermal efficiency, combustion characteristics and emissions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emission characteristics of diesel, gas to liquid, and biodiesel-blended fuels in a diesel engine for passenger cars
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental study was conducted on a 2.0-L 4 cylinders turbocharged diesel engine fuelled with those alternative diesel fuels to investigate the engine-out emission characteristics under various steady-state engine operating conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of gasoline, diesel, LPG, and low-carbon fuels and various certification modes on nanoparticle emission characteristics in light-duty vehicles
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of various vehicle certification modes on particle emission characteristics of light-duty vehicles with gasoline, diesel, LPG, and low-carbon fuels such as bio-diesel, bioethanol, and compressed natural gas, respectively, were compared with both CPC and DMS500.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of injection and ignition schemes for the ultra-lean combustion direct-injection LPG engine to control particulate emissions
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the injection and ignition schemes on combustion and emission characteristics, including particle emission of ultra-lean combustion through LPG, were investigated, and the experimental results reveal that the fully stratified injection strategies indicate an improvement of approximately 18% in thermal efficiency, but combustion fluctuation was observed owing to stratification.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative assessment of stoichiometric and lean combustion modes in boosted spark-ignition engine fueled with syngas
HyunWook Park,Junsun Lee,Narankhuu Jamsran,Seungmook Oh,Changup Kim,Yonggyu Lee,Kern-Yong Kang +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the stoichiometric and lean combustion modes in a single-cylinder SI engine to determine the optimal combustion mode for the development of a syngas engine generator.
