Cost and performance design approach for GTHTR300 power conversion system
TL;DR: In this article, a gas turbine high temperature reactor of 300 MWe nominal capacity (GTHTR300) power plant, aiming at prototype demonstration in Japan during 2010s, is described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of structural design procedure of plate-fin heat exchanger for HTGR
Yorikata Mizokami,Toshihide Igari,Fumiko Kawashima,Noriyuki Sakakibara,Masanori Tanihira,Tetsuo Yuhara,Tetsuyuki Hiroe +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the failure mode and failure limit of brazed side-bar structures were experimentally clarified and allowable stresses for aging materials and brazing structures were newly determined on the basis of the experimental results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of Macroscopic and Local Stress-Strain Behavior of Perforated Plates under Primary and Secondary Creep Conditions
TL;DR: In this article, a modified Neuber's rule is used for predicting local stress and strain concentrations of perforated heat exchanger, and the propriety of this prediction method is shown through a comparison of the prediction with both the numerical results by FEM for the unit section under creep, and experimental results by the Moire method.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of Japan's industry in the HTTR design and its construction
Isao Minatsuki,Masanori Tanihira,Yorikata Mizokami,Y. Miyoshi,H. Hayakawa,Futoshi Okamoto,Isamu Maekawa,K. Takeuchi,H. Kodama,M. Fukuie,N. Kan,S. Kato,K. Nishimura,T. Konishi +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized the roles of each industrial organization in the HTTR design and construction, and the installation was completed in November 1996, and was then handed over to JAERI in September 1997.
