TL;DR: In this paper, a two-dimensional cellular automaton traffic model is proposed, where blocks are placed periodically and the boundaries between these phases come closer as the size of the block decreases and converge into one phase boundary at a density around 0.19.
Abstract: A new two-dimensional cellular automaton traffic model is proposed, where blocks are placed periodically. The present model includes the model of two crossing roads in the limit of maximum sized blocks and the BML model in the limit of zero sized blocks. New phases of traffic flow appear between the free flow phase and the jam phase in the BML model. The boundaries between these phases come closer as the size of the block decreases and converge into one phase boundary at a density around 0.19, which is in fair agreement with the critical density in the BML model.

TL;DR: In this article, the phase transition between the rhombohedral and tetragonal phases was investigated in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 −8%PbTiO3 by dielectric constant and electrostriction loop measurements.
Abstract: The field-induced phase transition between the rhombohedral and tetragonal phases was investigated in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3–8%PbTiO3 by dielectric constant and electrostriction loop measurements. The temperature-electric-field phase diagram was clarified, and physical properties near the field-induced phase transition were discussed using the Landau-type free energy function.

TL;DR: The phase transition between ferroelectric phases of PZN is the one between the tetragonal and rhombohedral phases, and the phase boundary connects to the morphotropic phase boundary in the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PZN-PT) solid solution system as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: Dielectric constants in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 were measured under the zero-field heating after a preceding field cooling It was confirmed that a sharp phase transition between ferroelectric phases in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 appears at 114°C, and the phase boundary connects to the morphotropic phase boundary in the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PZN-PT) solid solution system A new phase diagram in the poled sample of PZN-PT was proposed in a wider temperature range It is concluded that the phase transition between ferroelectric phases of PZN is the one between the tetragonal and rhombohedral phases

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the discontinuity of a lattice on the normal modes, the soft-mode frequency and the transition temperature was investigated in finite discrete systems with the symmetric boundary condition.
Abstract: Lattice vibrations in finite discrete systems with the symmetric boundary condition are studied using the Tilley–Zeks model with emphasis on the effect of the discreteness of the lattice. It is found that the normal modes, the soft-mode frequency and the transition temperature all depend strongly on the lattice constant a , which expresses the degree of discreteness. It is pointed out that, in a small system with a few lattices, the effect of the discontinuity of the lattice cannot be ignored.
