Quantum control of surface acoustic-wave phonons

TL;DR: Full quantum control of the mechanical state of a macroscale mechanical resonator is demonstrated and a non-classical superposition of zero- and one-phonon mechanical Fock states is generated and measured by strongly coupling a surface acoustic-wave resonator to a superconducting qubit.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phonon-mediated quantum state transfer and remote qubit entanglement

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the deterministic emission and capture of itinerant surface acoustic wave phonons, enabling the quantum entanglement of two superconducting qubits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phonon-mediated quantum state transfer and remote qubit entanglement

TL;DR: The deterministic emission and capture of itinerant phonons through an acoustic communication channel is described, enabling the phonon-based coherent transfer of quantum states from one superconducting qubit to another and the quantum entanglement of the two qubits over the acoustic channel.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum state characterization of a fast tunable superconducting resonator

TL;DR: In this article, a frequency-tunable superconducting coplanar waveguide resonator with a tuning range of half a gigahertz and a switching time of 1 ns is presented.
